April Ends

April was a busy month.  Kai has been growing like a weed.  These are the last pictures f him biking, not on his balance bike he got for his second birthday.  His friend Mckenzie has a new sister and Kai brought flowers to her mommy.  He loves to play and plays hard,  It can be exhausting.

2nd Birthday

Kai is 2!  What a year it has been.  Kai is now speaking in full sentences.  The first 3 word sentence was "Go to Sleep"  Now he can say almost whatever he needs to.  Only occasionally is he unclear.  His favorite expressions are "No Digging, Caspian"  "Kai Guy have some" "Pick you up"  "Pa working" "Oh no..."  " Gary Gecko run away" "Big one"  He will repeat whole sentences if you ask him something.
he runs, climbs and jumps on anything and everything.  He loves going to the park especially if there are other kids.  He has a blast in the keiki coop.  Kai has lots of playdates and loves to swim.  He lays in the water and kicks his legs.  He also loves to bring his boogie board to the beach and go surfing.  Every wave, he wants to be a "big one"  and he has a a huge grin on his face when he sees a big wave.
His best friends are Olive and Mark Dale.
His favorite activities are trains and balance bike.  He has gotten really fast on his bike.  "Kai go fast"  and the neighbor comment making him proud.  The other day the neighbor kids were on there scooters and Kai ditched me to hang out with his bike.  He likes to go on "mama bike"  but sometimes protests.
Naps are not his favorite nor is going to sleep.   He likes to sleep in and once when I woke him he said "more sleeping".
He can count and enjoys counting his numbers.  He is getting much better at his colors.
He likes "chocolate cow milk" "one pop or two pop" dippie, anything he can dip and pizza.
I look forward to seeing Kai continue to grow and learn and explore his world.

For his second birthday, we had a party at Haleiwa Ali'ii Beach Park again.  This year it was pirate themed.  He had a bounce house and only he came out to get drinks and have his cake.  He loved runnig and jumping and tackling his friends.  He had a pirate theme and his friend Olive's mom, aunty Dara did an amazing job crafiting and decorating the party.  There were pirate hats, gold dablooms, treasure maps, pirate flags, shell mac and cheese, fruit swords, cannon ball raisins.  Sadie, Olive, Mark Dale, Halle, McKenzie, Adelaide, and Austin attended his party.  Kai took a biggie nap when he came home after all the excitment.

On his actual day of birth.  He got up and opend a new bull dozer for his train set.  Played some trains, then we biked to breakfast at Haleiwa Cafe, went to the park at Haeliwa School, Kai came home and opened his presents from his party ate some pizza and then went to Turtle Bay.  I brought his boogie board and he practiced his surfing and Kai Guy swimming.  His face lights up when he is in the water. We finished the day with take out Thai, a bath and more trains and playing with his new toys.

For his second birthday Kai recieved a balance bike.  He loves it.  Within 2 weeks he was lifting his feet up and balanacning.  It is his favorite this to do.  He calls it big boy bike or balance bike.  He likes to say "Kai go fast."  All the neighbors have complimented him on how fast he goes, which makes Kai very proud and encourages him to go faster.

Pineapple

Pineapple

I had wanted to plant a pineapple when Kai was born.  I ended up doing it when he was about 3 months.  It has finally grown its fruit and we enjoy looking at it getting bigger every day.  Kai loves his pineapple and looks forward to eating it one day.

Easter was another beautiful day in Paradise.  We celebrated by finding the eggs left by the bunny and Kai's new tunnel for his train set.  Kai loves playing trains.  We then rode our bikes to the Haleiwa Cafe.  Victor was jet lagged so had us there before 8am.  We ate our usual then went to the beach.  Found a beautiful cross, then came home to change for a party on the ranch.  Kai had a great tiem feeding the pigs, playing wiht the donkeys, swimming and playing with his friends. Victor and Travis both watched him, so I was able to visit with my girlfriends.  It was a fun filled day.

Decorating our eggs
Kai participated i several egg hunts and Spring festitivies.  Victor was away for work in Colorado and we kept busy.  He attended a bunny and egg decorating party on Schofield.  A second FRG sponsored Spring Fest, storytime and egg hunt in Waialua and we decorated eggs.  Kai was not a fan of the bunny.  We tried to visit him at the NEX, Kai gave a high five and high tailed it over to the waterfall. He did play next to him at the one party, but that was about it.  We did not dye our eggs, because we buy local eggs they were already pretty, so our own batch we put stickers on.

Irish Soda Bread

Kai and i celebrated our Irish roots by making some Irish Soda Bread.  Kai put in all the ingredients and helped knead the bread.  It turned out delicious. Kai likes to call anything we bake, brownies.  He also said "Irish Soda Bread" in the cutest manner.  Kai is quite the chef.

Boots and First Haircut

One of the most liked posts of FB

Haircut picture

Kai loves putting on our shoes and tiptoeing around.  The other day, Victor had his boots out on the lanai and Kai put them on.  He was very proud of himself but had great difficulty walking with the heavy boots on.  The last picture is big boy Kai and his new haircut.
