Mele Kalikimaka

Kai's first Christmas was green.  He woke up to a pile of presents which he opened and wanted to play with each toy.  After opening presents and making fresh banana bread awe went to the beach to fly Victor's new kite.  After the beach we went to the Toole's for a Christmas feast.  When we came back home, we returned to the beach again.  Kai loved all his presents.  He favors playing with his workbench and blocks the best.

Mama's Birthday

First Penny Press

At Duke's with Birthday Lei

First try of pineapple
For my thirty something birthday I choose to take Kai to the Waikiki aquarium.  He loved all the fish and especially the jelly fish which they used a blacklight to illuminate.  After the aquarium we strolled down the street to eat at Duke's Beachfront Bar and had a delicious lunch and hula pie

I heart NY

on the way to the airport
On our last night on the east coast, Auntie Stross hosted Kai and myself at her apartment in NYC.  It was a blustery and cold night so we did not venture far.  Kai enjoyed NY.

Cousins

While on Long Island, Kai was able to spend lots of time bonding with his cousins.  Juliana would call him Baby Kai and loved him.  She even matched her shoes to his outfits.  We took the cousins to get a group picture on Santa's lap and Kai pulled Juliana's hair and Santa had to intervene.  Felicity was a sweetheart to Kai.  She was a perfect cousin to him.
