Change of Command 561st

Victor has a Change of Command relinquishing command of the 561st and had 3 weeks before taking command of HHC brigade.  This also meant that I had a brief respite from being a FRG leader.  It also meant that we had 2 ceremonies for Kai to attend with us.  Thankfully, Travis was able to watch Kai and Courtney was able to take pictures.

Playdates

Kai is very popular and loves to meet his friends to play at the park.  We go to different parks ont he North Shore and Schofield Barracks.

January Beach Time

Kai is a beach bum.  We take Caspian to sea glass beach where we look for treasures.  Other times we go to Awewo Beach Park on the bike.  Still other time, we meet for a playdate at Ko Olina.  Kai loves it all.  He loves to wade in the water, blow bubbles, try to swim and dig.

Saturday with Friends

Turtle Bay hosts many community events in the hopes that the community will then support their expansion.  Kai and I joined Dara and Olive for an event celebrating Hawaiian culture.  There were many vendors and several crafts.  Kai and Olive enjoyed running around.

Happy New Year

On New Year’s Eve the family made a walk to Waialua beach.  We enjoyed watching the sunset and taking a quick dip in the ocean.  We found a cool hut made from driftwood and used that for a backdrop or our last pictures of 2012.

2012 was a great year.  Kai grew by leaps and bounds.  It has been a joy watching him grow and discover his world.  He is a curious boy and you can see him thinking things through.  I am excited to continue to watch him grow and discover the world around him.  I feel very lucky to be able to live in paradise with my little man.
